Anamone Studios is a space where form follows feeling — a considered, intuitive practice grounded in the unhurried, tactile language of clay.

Founded by Emma Motion, the studio is an extension of her contemplative approach to making. She produces ceramics and fine art prints that explore the nuanced beauty of stillness, transformation, and emotional texture. Each piece invites a pause — a gentle return to slowness and the rhythms of nature.

With a formal background in graphic design and art direction, Emma brings a discerning eye and a deep sensitivity to visual composition. This foundation informs her aesthetic vocabulary — where simplicity is elevated, detail is intentional, and each form is in quiet dialogue with its surroundings.

At the heart of her practice is clay — both as a material and a metaphor. Responsive and elemental, clay not only shapes the objects Emma creates, but also echoes through the tonal quality of her photographic work. Whether held in the hand or captured through the lens, it is the thread that unifies the visual and tactile language. Each piece is handcrafted in Emma’s Gai-marigal Country (Northern Beaches) studio in Sydney.

Anamone Studios offers pieces intended to live quietly in the home — to enrich the everyday, hold space for felt senses and bring a feeling of peace to the spaces in between.
